Course Description
This is a semester course. As part of the Searider Productions Core (SPCORE) classes you will learn how to identify and create different types of media. Each student will leave with a clear understanding of the type of major they would like to participate in. This is the first credit in the CTE certification sequence.

To create innovative complex stories.
Basic writing, photography, video production, and graphic design techniques.
Craft effective messages that persuade and/or promote different ideas through various media.

Attendance Policy
Students are required to attend class daily.
Absences/Tardies (unexcused or excused) is no excuse for not completing work on time.
Student is required to notify Advisers and Executive Staff prior to or during extended absence periods.
Frequent unexcused absences will result in a parent conference and/or failing grade and/or dismissal from class. -
Assignments/Grading/Deadlines Policy
Students are required to complete projects by assigned deadlines.
Any missed workshops/notes/assignments are the responsibility of the student to attain/complete.
Grades are based on student demonstration of proficiency. Students are responsible to turn in enough work for an assessment to be made.
Grades are not based on how many points are earned and late or alternate work is accepted. -
Class Policy
Students must have ID at all times.
Assignments that require student to leave class during “designated school instructional time” must be cleared and approved by advisors.
Students must check out/in with advisors before leaving/after returning to class.
Students who leave classroom for work purposes must acquire “OFFICIAL STAFF ID”
Students who arrive late will be referred to Dean of Students office.

Equipment Use Policy
Student is required to supply a school issued ID when checking out equipment.
NO ID = NO Checkout
Student is required to supply the school issued internet safety form (AUP) before using computers.
SP equipment is for SP use only.
Level 1 Certification is a requirement for anyone who wishes to take equipment outside of “designated school instructional time.”
Students must leave ID in Check out room when using equipment overnight.
Only designated staff are allowed to enter Equipment Room.
Damaged or missing items not reported immediately will be assumed responsible by the previous user.
Unattended equipment will be returned immediately, no questions asked and user will be suspended.
Remember it is a privilege to have this equipment. *DO NOT ABUSE THIS PRIVILEGE.
There are three levels for suspensions.
Level 1
(1-2 Days suspension)
